  • Alaska.  Three Tundra Swans (Cygnus columbianus), one adult and two cygnets, flying in formation over Potter Marsh in October against a bright blue sky with a few thin white clouds.  Smaller and more goose-like than Trumpeters, Tundra Swans can usually be distinguished from them by a sorter bill with a yellow patch (though some variants have all-black bills).
