  • Mt. Redoubt, across Cook Inlet from Kenai, Alaska is an active volcano that has erupted several times in 30 yrs.  Each eruptions ash cloud stops the commercial air traffic until it subsides.  Ash clouds have been documented well above 40,000 ft.  Mt. Redoubt is part of an active group of volcanoes that extend hundreds of miles down the Alaska Range towards the Aleutian Islands. Mt. Redoubt is 10,000 plus feet in elevation. Part of the Pacific Ring of Fire.
