  • Alaska has a large variety of birds, big and small. Tourists come to Alaska just to see some of the more unique species, found only in Alaska and the far north. Many large birds, ie. eagles, swans, owls, cranes, herons, gulls, ravens, etc. make Alaska their breeding ground or live here year round. This family of two adults and three cygnets were enjoying the morning light and food seemingly unafraid of the photographer with the large tele lens. I am always awed at how calm and slow and graceful these large birds are. I feel so peaceful when I observe them.
