  • Alaska.  Bright yellow colors of autumn surround the confluence of the East Fork of Sixmile Creek and Canyon Creek along the Seward Highway near the Hope turnoff in September.  Sixmile Creek flows from this point to the Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet presenting Class IV and Class V rapids and is a very popular and challenging whitewater rafting recreation area.

  • Alaska.  Two Gray Wolves (Canis lupus) teaming up just before sunset to pull away part of the remains of a caribou killed a couple days before near Sable Pass in Denali National Park in August.  A brown bear had taken over the kill, but the wolves distracted it enough so they could take back part of what was left.
