Bohemian waxwing feeding on mountain ash berries

Alaska. A single adult Bohemian Waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus) clinging to a small branch as it feeds on bright red mountain ash berries during migration through Southcentral Alaska in December. Often seen in large flocks of several hundred birds, they swoop from one food source to another and chatter vociferously while feeding. Clusters of the bright red berries are laden with snow.
