Bohemian Waxwing clinging to a mountain ash branch.

Alaska. A single adult Bohemian Waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus) clinging to a Mountain Ash branch (Sorbus sp.) just above a cluster of bright red berries as it pauses while feeding in Anchorage in February. Usually seen in large flocks of as many as several hundred birds, they swoop from one food source to another, often chattering vociferously while feeding.
