Alaska. Two fishermen react casually (one taking a picture) while two juvenile Brown Bears (Ursus arctos) approach the south bank of the Upper Kenai River near the Russian River Ferry in June. The mother bear is just out of the picture in the woods behind. Bears routinely forage the banks of this highly popular fishery for easy pickings of salmon on stringers or for human food let unattended. Bear/human interaction is problematic and often leads to habituation, with negative results for the bear.
