C-17 memorial

Alaska. U.S.Air Force/Alaska Air National Guard C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft on static display on the ramp at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson during the Arctic Thunder 2010 open house. This aircraft was placed as a memorial for the four airmen killed earlier in the week in a tragic C-17 accident. Numerous visitors enjoy the once-a-year opportunity to get up close to a wide array of military aircraft and hardware and watch many flight demonstrations.
