The bridge was built in 1979 to span the Chen River in Fairbanks at Cushman St. When it was replaced, the original was dismantled, floated down the Yukon River and barged to the Seward Peninsula, and reassembled in its current location, paid for by mining interests.

Amundsen departed Norway may 11, 1926 in a dirigible over the North Pole headed towad Nome, but strong winds forced him to land in nearby Teller. The Iditarod Finish threshold is stored next door during the off season.

Alaska; St. Joseph's Catholic Church, built in 1903, originally located on Front Street. Its was abandoned in 1920's and used for storage. Nome purchased the building in 1996, moved it to its present location and heavily renovated the building. The cross is the highest point in town and serves as a lit beacon for seaman and Iditarod dog mushers. Buckets from gold dredges are positioned all around the church.

Alaska; Nome; This yellow train locomotive was handbuilt by Elmer Straub after WWII and he had exclusive rights to haul freight on the Wild Goose Railway Line until the track was dismantled in 1950. Now it is a tourist attraction located near the St. Joseph's Church and the Nome Welcome sign.
